Stucco Repair Cost in Calgary: What Calgary Firms Publish, Job by Job

There is no single stucco repair price in Calgary, and a page that gives you one is guessing. What exists is a set of published price lists from individual Calgary firms, and they differ by job, by firm and sometimes between two pages of the same firm's site. Every figure below is in Canadian dollars and named to the firm that publishes it, with that firm's GST wording. None is averaged with another firm's.

Sandstone Stucco Co is an advertising service paid by independent stucco contractors. A published firm price is what that firm advertises, not a market rate, and only a contractor who has seen your wall can quote it. Every number here comes from a Calgary firm's own website, read on 30 September 2026. Where the firm says its prices are before GST, the table says ex GST; where the page is silent, it says GST not stated and you should ask. GST is 5% and Alberta has no PST.

Several firms publish different numbers for the same job on different pages. Martini Stone Masonry gives one per-square-foot band on its cost page and a different one on its repair page, and Calgary Parging's service page gives a wider range than its itemised cost guide. This page uses the itemised, dated figure and names the firm, so you can see whose number it is.

Calgary Parging says its ranges rest on more than 1,360 written estimates, and Martini says its page draws on 1,200 or more estimates and invoices, some from Cochrane, Priddis and Canmore. Those are the firms' own statements and have not been audited here. Alberta advises getting more than one written estimate, so treat these as questions to put to a contractor, not as a quote.

Two walls with the same crack can quote very differently. These are the drivers Calgary firms name, with the figures they publish:

• Height and scaffolding. Calgary Parging says upper-storey or peaked sections need scaffolding, typically $4,000 to $12,900 ex GST. It also prices a second-storey woodpecker patch above a first-storey one ($800 against $600 on its 2024 list).
• Colour matching. Calgary Parging says a colour match adds $230 to $575 ex GST. The manufacturer Imasco says colour can vary with weather, texture, job conditions and method of application, and that one colour batch should cover the whole job.
• Hidden water damage. Calgary Parging says water-damaged sheathing must be replaced first and adds $575 to $2,300 or more ex GST. Calgary Stucco and Slate notes that nobody can tell you the full extent until the wall is opened up.
• Minimum call. Calgary Parging states a minimum service call of $550 to $690 ex GST, so on that firm's list even a very small job starts there.
• System and finish. Cement, acrylic and EIFS walls are repaired differently, and Martini's per-hole woodpecker price is for EIFS. Say which you have when you call.
• Season. Calgary Parging says stucco cures best above 5°C in dry conditions, typically April through October, and that off-season repairs require heated hoarding.

Once a job covers a whole wall the figures climb quickly. Calgary Parging lists $9,650 for a 9 by 30 ft wall removed and replaced, and Martini lists $14,350 for one elevation with the brick stripped and an acrylic finish, both ex GST. For whole houses, a Calgary contractor's 2024 price list from Calgary Parging shows $12,000 to $18,000 for an acrylic-finish bungalow, $18,000 to $33,000 for a mid-size house and $30,000 to $60,000 for a larger one, GST not stated.

Per-square-foot figures differ even more. Martini's summary of its estimates puts a full application at $14.50 to $18 per sq ft, plus $4.50 where cement board is needed, ex GST; the rows behind that summary are tagged to Canmore, not Calgary. Total Exteriors advertises $8 to $15 per sq ft for repair and $25 to $50 for full replacement, GST not stated. Calgary Stucco and Slate frames $5,000 to $20,000 and up as a very rough guide for full re-coats or re-stuccos. EIFS jobs sit in a different bracket: Calgary Parging lists about $62,100 to remove and make safe roughly 1,400 sq ft of EIFS panel, and Martini lists $36,800 to tear off siding and fit an EIFS system, both ex GST. Two jobs have no reliable Calgary price on file: stucco removal and stucco painting. The only Calgary removal figure found sat on a 2020 page from a firm whose prices contradict each other from page to page, and Calgary Parging's painting page gives no number, so neither is shown here.

The Insurance Bureau of Canada says hail damage is typically covered by home insurance policies, so check your own policy. The City of Calgary advises contacting your home insurance provider before any repair work, and IBC suggests photographing the damage and keeping receipts. For permits, the City of Calgary says most repair or replacement work does not need a development or building permit, and it lists a building permit for siding with a different material. Stucco is not named on that page, so confirm your project with the City on 311. If your home is newer, check your new home warranty before paying for repairs.

Timing changes price and scheduling. Imasco's specification rules out stucco work below 4°C for 24 hours before, during and after application, ADEX asks for 5°C or above for at least 24 hours, and Calgary Parging says off-season work needs heated hoarding.
